WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Gateway Community High is a small community of learners and is ideally suited to students who:
-
Will thrive outside a mainstream educational environment
-
Are looking for a place of belonging and safety
-
Are interested in learning, and willing to put in effort to succeed
-
Could benefit from extra support and attention to re-engage in their education
-
May have missed some language, literacy or numeracy fundamentals
-
Are looking to build their pathway to future VET or Stage 6 (Yr 11 & 12) studies
Operating as a Special Assistance School, we differ from special needs and behavioural schools.
Gateway is an alternative high school, designated by NESA as a special assistance school. We offer more support and more flexible learning options for young people that may have barriers to effective participation or experience disadvantage in larger mainstream educational settings.
Gateway is not a designated special needs or behavioural school and we are unable to cater for students requiring high level learning support or behavioural interventions.

more flexible way to achieve their learning and personal goals over two, manageable cycles of 1 year each.

More pace, less pressure, completing
